8th May 2025

Included in the Watch Auction on the 20th & 21st May 2025 is this very fine Patek Philippe 18ct diamond set lady's wristwatch.

What makes this piece very interesting is its charming history. It has been passed down by family descent and was a very nice personal gift from Richard Condon to his wife Evelyn in 1967, the case back engraved '1967 Evelyn on her 24th Birthday from Richard'

In 1967 Evelyn of course was not 24 and her daughter fondly remembers that her mother always regarded herself as 24 whatever her age.

Richard Thomas Condon (March 18, 1915 – April 9, 1996) was an American political novelist. Primarily remembered for his novel 'The Manchurian Candidate' first published in 1959.
