156 :: Rare Tudor Submariner 'Snowflake' stainless gentleman's wristwatch of US Naval interest, ref. 7016/0, circa 1974, serial no. 815xxx, rotating black bezel, the black 'T Swiss T' dial with luminous markers, 'snowflake' hands and sweep centre seconds, marked 'Submariner 200m=660ft', cal. 2483 17 jewel movement, the inside screw back dated 'II.72', engraved 'Edward Earl Gettys', the bezel 40mm diameter (no strap) - ** accompanied with Tudor by Rolex box - ** Purchased direct from a family memeber of Edward Earl Gettys, included with the sale are copies of his certificate of release or discharge from active duty and obituary printed in the El Dorado Springs Sun - ** Edward Earl Gettys Sr. (1947-2010) - At the age of 17, Edward joined the US Navy where he served for 22 years, receiving numerous medals and commendations. After several tours including Vietnam, he later joined the Explosive Ordnance Disposal diving team. It is reputed that he purchased this watch from the Naval stores and wore it whilst serving on active duty, his name is engraved to the case back
